West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has filed a defamation suit against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Calcutta High Court.
The plea comes after the Chief Minister allegedly made statements against the Governor, claiming that women had told her they did not feel secure visiting the Raj Bhavan due to recent allegations of sexual harassment against the governor by a former Raj Bhavan employee.

Women have informed me that they do not feel safe visiting the Raj Bhavan due to recent occurrences reported there,” the Chief Minister stated.
In reaction, the Governor reportedly warned that persons in high positions, such as the Chief Minister, should avoid making “erroneous and slanderous” remarks.
He further declared that he will take the CM to the Calcutta High Court for making defamatory comments about him.
